what is the statute of limitations of child sexual abuse in wyoming
Hello. My name is XXXXX XXXXX I will be glad to help you.

I am sorry to hear about this unfortunate situation.

Unfortunately, in Wyoming, there are no statutes of limitations for any criminal prosecution.

So a person can be prosecuted at any time for committing any crime.

However, in reality, the more time passes from the time a crime had been committed, the harder it might be for the police and prosecutors to successfully pursue criminal case, due to the wittinesses memory of the events, lost evidence, etc...

I wish you the best of luck and please let me know if you have any related follow up questions.

it says there is a 3 year statute of limitations in wyoming

Dear Marlin,

That Statute of Limitations only apply to civil lawsuit as Wyo. Stat. §1-3-105(b) provides that an action for childhood sexual abuse may be brought within the later of: 8 years after a minor's 18th birthday, or 3 years after discovery.

There is NO Statute of Limitations for any criminal prosecution
: See Boggs v. State, 484 P.2d 711 (Wyo. 1971).

I wish you the best of luck!
