I'm sorry to hear of your dilemma.
Even as a first offender---an armed robbery conviction will prevent you from enlisting in any of the armed forces.
Georgia is extremely harsh in dealing with armed robbery convictions. Any robbery in which a weapon is used, if convicted on, carries a minimum of 10 years in prison, and if someone was killed in the robbery, the death sentence could be issued.
I'm sorry. If this has happened to you or a loved one, I strongly suggest that you retain the very best criminal defense attorney you can find and hope that the charges can be negotiated down to a lesser offense that might not mandate 10 years in prison with no parole.
