Resolved Question:

I am applying for a job and they asked if I have ever been convicted of a crime. I had a dui when I was in college 9 years ago, will that show up on a criminal background check?

Unless you received an adjournment in contemplation of dismissal and the charge was ultimately dismissed, the conviction will show up on a background check. A DUI is at least a misdemeanor (and sometimes a felony), so it does count as a criminal conviction and will come up.
