In Washington state, bench probation is different from formal

Customer Question

In Washington state, bench probation is different from formal probation. If
sentencing includes bench probation and counseling or other requirements,
this is not meeting with a probation officer, right? The court can monitor
but it is not appointments with a probation officer and the person does not
need to report to them or that department, right? How is it done?

Bench probation is less formal then regular probation. It may require appearing one time at the probation office just to sign up but it would not require monthly or weekly reporting or any type of drug testing. You would be required to comply with what was order by the court and to stay out of trouble for the remainder of the time which you are on bench probation.
