what are the penalties for online drug purchases of noncontrolled

This answer was rated:

what are the penalties for online drug purchases of noncontrolled substances without a prescription.

What state was this in and where were they coming from?

Thank you.

It is a violation of federal law that carries a penalty of one year and $1000. Under state law, possessing or attempting to possess narcotics without a valid prescription is illegal and the penalties vary by the type of drug and the quantity that was obtained or attempted to be obtained, but most are Class D felonies that are punishable by 6 months to 3 years in jail.

uncontrolled substances not narcotics
What kind of substance are you talking about?

Then the potential penalty under federal law listed above still applies (1 year in jail/$1000 fine), if the antibiotic is imported from an online pharmacy outside of the United States. Indiana law does not really have a corresponding state statute, because the importation through the mail and across state lines makes it a federal offense rather than a state one.
