my friend in not legally separated from her exhusband. Since he had bad credit and had a lots of debts, everything is under her name ( house, car, bills). Now she believe her ex is doing...let say, bad things. She is affraid that if he get caught, they can take away her savings or thing like her car. I told her to divorce him but she does believe in divorce. Now I wonder, it's true? can people take away her things just becasue of her ex

Texas is a community property state and the spouse can be held liable for some of the debts of the other. She needs to get a divorce.
