The e-mails would be the property of the company, and as such they would have no legal obligation to release them to you voluntarily.

However, if you commence some sort of legal proceeding, for instance a defamation lawsuit, you may be able to get a court to issue a subpoena to have the e-mails released as part of the discovery process.
