What did he do doing his search - did he go into dresser drawers or just room to room?

just room to room.

I would agree with the officer's search of the premises - there are situations where there has been a 911 call and then, because they are being held hostage, when the police come they are forced into stating nothing is wrong.

The police are only doing there job in this situation.
