My sister was just committed to a hospital for mental health

This answer was rated:

My sister was just committed to a hospital for mental health evaluation. She is worried that her insurance policy will be cancelled. Did the new Obamacare legistation prohibit insurance companies from cancelling policies? She's lives in California.
What type of insurance policy is it?
Is it paid for by her employer?
Customer: replied 7 years ago.
She is self-employed and pays for her own health insurance.
I am sorry your sister is going through this.

Unfortunately, the new plan from the President will not protect her. The policy will be able to cancel her. However, if that happens, a complaint to the Dept. of Insurance should help her get a reinstatement.

I hope this works out for her.

Good luck.
