Major failure of sub frame structure due to rust. Car ( 2000

Resolved Question:

Major failure of sub frame structure due to rust. Car ( 2000 Saturn) was inspected just prior to purchase. Inspection at time of purchase 11 months before the failure. Is there any legal recourse to recover cost of car or repairs?

if you had a professional mechanic inspect the car 11 mths ago and he did not catch that then you would have a claim.if claim is less than 5000 which i assume it is file in small claims court you will not need a lawyer.

The state is PA. The car was to be purchased but before it was it needed to be inspected. They Auto shop had the mecahnic two doors down inspect the car. The car passed inspection and then major catastropic of the sub frame due to rust. The price was $3000. So you are saying the Mechanic is liable and we must go to small claims cout?

Yes.Sue for the whole 3k.It will be impossible to repair car in a cost effective manner.Any mechanic should have caught this.
