Sorry to hear you're having these troubles with this machine and I see you have been waiting some time for some advice on this. The you can't test your joystick controls on a D series skid steer the way you are testing. The joystick controls give a signal to the ECM on this machine and then the ECM software processes that information to then send an output to your controls and functions. Caterpillar electronic technician needs to be plugged into this machine for proper troubleshooting and potential software updates and recalibration's of your joystick controls. You will also need to retrieve your complete fault code history using Caterpillar electronic technician. This is not like old technology where you can just test the circuit with your test light unfortunately. You can however look for any obvious damage like corrosion or damage within the wiring or connector pins, but any time the joystick is disconnected or replaced, it will need to be recalibrated.I hope you find this information helpful.
