Sorry to hear you're having troubles with this machine. The symptoms you are describing lean towards possible final drive failure or a failure occurring within the transmission. Drain your oils in your final drives as well as your transmission. Check the filter and section screen within your transmission for any signs of metal or debris that would confirm an internal mechanical problem requiring disassembly further inspection for rebuild or repair. Check from metal chunks from your final drives indicating internal mechanical failure also requiring disassembly of the final drives for further inspection for repair or rebuild as well. It's a pleasure to help anyway I can.
Hey, sorry to hear you are having these problems. I know that can be frustrating. Hopefully, we can get you back to work quickly. I see no one could help you earlier, and I hope this is not too late to be helpful. Please note that I am not set up for phone calls, you can ignore the site pop-ups. We can post to this chat as much as you like to work through this issue. All experts are not employees, and we work from home in our spare time to answer questions.
When I have harsh shifting on these machines, the first thing I want to do is a fill time calibration. This can be done with CAT ET or a 4C-8195 control box with some special instructions.
If that doesn't fix the issue, then check pressures for the priority valve or just replace the priority valve solenoid and then check the pressure and the operation of the priority valve. This assumes the machine's transmission ECM is not reporting any faults. All speed sensor must work, All temperature sensors must work. The ECM needs this information to make shift smooth and control the modulation as the oil warms.
