Be sure to test for power on both sides of all your fuses with the ignition switch in the on position. Replace any fuses with power only on one side. Swap your relays one at a time with a known good one for testing purposes. Thoroughly inspect your wiring and connector pins for any corrosion or damage as well as any open circuits that could cause a loss of power to your injection pump shut off solenoid. Verify power in and out of your ignition switch switched position. It is a pleasure to help anyway I can.

It is possible that that could because it could should cause a shutdown. I would check the wiring of all your safety switches and connector pins as well just to be sure.

04B Engine 4045DT058-RE517352. Thanks for confirming. Shouldnt be all wires. I do not have the electrical diagram for the ECM handy but there should be a constant power as well as an ignition switch to power at the ECM plug. Shy of having the diagram with the service book. I would do a complete plug check to see where you have 12 V and if you have 12 V in both conditions with the switch on and off to verify if you have ignition switch to power going to the ECM.

ECM failure is usually the last place to look into. If you don't have access to John dear service advisor to plug-in and communicate with the ECM, it would be very hard to condemn the ECM unless of course you had a sister machine that you could swap ECM's for testing purposes. Otherwise, this machine should be connected to John dear service advisor to see if you can communicate with the ECM. You can test for battery power and switched power at the ECM connector. The shop manual would be helpful with the wiring schematic so you can trace out that circuit. Unfortunately I do not have the shop manual for this particular model or I would be glad to share those pinouts. Sometimes you can find them at a reasonable price on the web either through eBay or other sites in PDF version.

Thanks for the update. I would definitely confirm the ECM power and grounds as well as your switched power to the ECM. If you have constant battery power to the ECM and then also you find that you have switched power on another pin that is on and off with the ignition switch confirming the ECM is powering up, you could have a faulty ECM as you suspected if all of the possibilities have already confirmed okay.

See if you can find a good ECm to use as a test ECM from a sister truck or have yours tested at the dealer. Keep me posted.

Troubleshooting is a process of testing and then going over those test results to move on to the next step. What was the voltage readings when you tested at the ECM connector pins for battery voltage constant and switched power? Was it 6 V, 8 V, 12 V? Did you find switched power when you tested with your voltmeter? Did you also find constant power to the ECM? Did you have any luck coming up with a schematic for the pinout to the ECM connector as I suggested? You can't really diagnose without testing and dissecting the test results unfortunately. It's not a simple of saying replace this part or replace that part. That could get very expensive.

It could be something as small as an open circuit inside the wiring harness such as one of the connector pins not making good contact or a poor cramp or connection, as well as a possible break within the wiring harness. This could very well be software related with the ECM requiring an ECM reflash or reprogram an update from the dealer. If the reflash an update does not take, you could have a faulty ECM.

I would definitely do that. I would also use an ohmmeter to confirm and verify continuity through the wiring harness and check for any high resistance within the wire or open circuits.
