Hi this is Dan, thanks for asking for me. A couple of things to ask first. What is the charge rate when the light is coming on? You can see the charge rate on the dash by holding the bottom row two keys, the outside and the most inner. press those together then press #4 and it will show battery, pressing #1 afterwards will show hours. I cant remember the others of the top of my head. Also has the circuit board or / computer been changed to the updated version. It will have an aluminum cover over it as opposed to just a circuit board. Finally remove the cover on the motor under the air cooler. (two bolts 13mm socket) Look at the wiring on the alternator and where they tied it off. I've seen the wire chafe on the injector lines from the vibrations. Please let me know, Thanks.
Hi Thanks for that pic, yes that is the old style. So if you use your meter what is the voltage at battery or alt stud?
the old board were a real problem and the new ones need to have the dash and bus cable changed as well. I'll see if I can find the bulletin.
this is the programing procedure for new style. I think I misled you on the button for voltage I'm looking for that process.
So this is a picture of the key pad. If I recall its the 9 and # symbol pressed together then the next up load indicated what each keypad starting at 1 will show. You will need to hit the 9 and # then the key 5 to see battery voltage. Sorry thought it was 4. But you can see machine hours using the number 1 key using the same procedure. Hope that makes sense.
The installation instructions was to big to scan but if you decide to do it I can get it to you.
this is the connectors on the circuit board and where they go to with regards ***** ***** so for instance connector x102 pin 10 is the start wire going to the starter. The wires are marked with the plug then the pin for instance the one above would be printed on the wire 10210.
Ok great so its a 30b not a l30.
suggest ohming the d+ wire back to the circuit board from alt. Make sure the wire is intact. We have lots of issues with chaffed wires and broken wiring on these harnesses.
From what you told me the dash is seeing the correct voltage so the battery light should be off when running.
I'm Signing off for the night any question follow up please. Thanks
