This is an all air brake model, with conventional brake shoes and air chambers at each wheel. The adjustment is the same as a truck with air brakes, the air chamber rod is adjusted to give more travel to the shoe. When the brakes get worn too far, the brake cam will flip over and, then the brake shoes have to be replaced. This involves removing the wheels and tires, and the brake drums to access the brake assemblies.
Hydraulic at the wheels? Or hydraulic over air, with air chambers at each wheel?
Then it should have a conventional brake adjuster that has a nut to tighten the brake shoes. Accessed through the backing plate of the wheel.
Yes, that is the only access, you can't get to them from the rear.
Yes, it has a star wheel for adjustment.
The planetary will need to be drained, the cover comes off and then the gears removed! Then the wheel bearing nuts come off, to get brake drum off.
