I have a 2003 JCB 506CHL that will not start for the first

Customer Question

I have a 2003 JCB 506CHL that will not start for the first time ever. All dash lights come on. The gear selector on the left side of steering wheel has been loose/sloppy for a while now. I believe it is now to the point where it is not recognizing that the machine is in neutral or just not making an electrical connection. Is that possible?
JA: What is the complete model and serial number of your machine?

JA: Anything else you want the equipment mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: No thats all. Thanks

Hello! Let's see if we can work together and come to a satisfactory conclusion!

Very possible it is not recognizing neutral. If you hold switch in start and wiggle the gear shift, does it try to crank?

No it has not

Do you have a voltmeter or test light to check the neutral start wires? Or locate the wires at shifter and jumper them? Transmission has to be in neutral, and park brake may have to be on. Not sure what other safety switches it would have.??

I will try to locate one.I have been meaning to install a new gear shifter switch for a while because it is worn out. It appears to be easy to replace by removing the steering wheel and a plastic cover plate. Are you familiar with that?
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 9 months ago.

Never changed one, but usually it is just a bolt and plug install.

I see question is still open, did you get shifter and it works? Please rate to close.
