Gehl 5625 sx perkins diesel 1, 800 hours. Started it last

Customer Question

Gehl 5625 sx perkins diesel 1, 800 hours. Started it last week with the intentions of prepping for "winter" use. Yesterday go to start unit and got a click. Check and clean battery connections. Replace battery. Remove and bench test starter, good. Can't really reach crankshaft bolt to attempt to turn engine by hand (I'll have to find a way). Bypass ignition switch attempt to start direct at starter, click. Tilt cab and can feel that the click right around the pump. Could the pump be seized or partially " engaged" preventing the engibe from turning over. Or is the engine seized.

Best bet is to have tried to turn engine using the ring gear when you had starter off. Hydraulic pump can seize and keep engine from turning, , but not usual cause, can have fluid on top of a piston, and taking glow plugs out or loosing the injectors will let fluid out.
