Hello,

Do you hear any noise when you turn the key?

Have you checked the battery and the connection to ground?

Expert:  catmastertech replied 1 year ago.

I have seen the ground cable become corroded and prevent starting on many machines.

I have also seen the starter fail on a few.

The neutral safety switch can also prevent cranking.

I assume you mean it will not crank over, correct?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The engine is not turning over and when it does it will run for a few seconds then out.
Expert:  catmastertech replied 1 year ago.

Oh, ok.

That is like from air in the fuel system.

Did you just service the machine?

Did the fuel get very low in the tank recently?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I changed the lifept pump
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Fuel pump
Expert:  catmastertech replied 1 year ago.

Yes, that could let air into the system.

Did you loosen the bleed screw on the fuel injection pump and the prime the system?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I lossen the bleed screw on the fuel system and prime the mechanical feuel pump but nothing came out
Expert:  catmastertech replied 1 year ago.

Turn the engine some and the priming pump should feel like it is pushing fuel. If you do not feel fuel pump, turn the engine a little and try again.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Ok
I'll try that
Expert:  catmastertech replied 1 year ago.

Ok, once you get fuel to the pump, then loosen the lines at the injectors and try to get fuel to each of them.

You may need to charge your batteries so, your cranking speed is not too slow.

If it still will not start, remove the air filters and try a little ether to get the cranking speed high enough to force out the last of the air.

I always try to save using ether as a last resort. Just DO NOT use the fuel preheater when using ether!

If you need further help, please let me know.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I did that but no fuel reached to the injector line
Expert:  catmastertech replied 1 year ago.

Ok, thanks for the information.

Next check the solenoid on the top or back of the injection pump. Test the wire to the solenoid for power. Check the ground for continuity to ground.

If this has an internal solenoid, check the ohm reading of the solenoid coil. It can vary between 8 to 30 ohms.

Less than 5 ohms is a shorted coil and more than 5000 is an open circuit.

If it has an external solenoid, you can remove it to see if the plunger has trash on it or it may be stuck.

Test the coil the same way as an internal solenoid.

Sorry for the late reply, my internet provider has been down today and service is very slow for some reason.

Did you install new fuel filters when you installed the lift pump?

Did you replace the rubber ferrules that seal the lines?

Did you check the tank or lines for trash or plugging?

Do you still find air in the injection pump when it gets weak?

Why did you replace the lift pump?

Has this machine been vandalized? (Is the fuel tank clean and filled only with good quality diesel fuel?)
