working on Dynapac CC-122 has no power steering is the large hose of the bottom of the pump the feed hose or discharge hose.If feed hose then the hose and elbow on bottom of pump must be filled with fluid at all times correct or does the pump suck up fluid
every time you start engine thanks

Yes, the large hose is the suction hose, it has to be vacuum tight. Each time engine is started , the pump has to suck the oil in. It should sty filled, but if there is a vacuum leak, it will leak back. Also the pump has to be in good shape to be able to draw the suction.

Check the big hose and the fitting at both ends and the mounting flange and o'ring.
