have a 289 c just replaced the head gasket on the engine and it has developed a sputter it never had before almost like its suckin air have checked all fuel lines and injector lines any ideas

I am sorry, I don't have any experience on these engines.I can only suggest you check the valve lash again, this is where I start when I have trouble with a strange sound. You may have trash in a fuel line, Try swapping injectors to different holes if you can isolate one causing a misfire.I will OPT-OUT as others may have more experience than I do.
