Hi my name is***** will try to help. Before draining your hydraulic oil and wasting new oil if you have a pump failure you remove your hydraulic filter and using a filter cutting tool ( no hack saw or anything that will put metal filings into the filter curing cutting) cut the filter open and using a utility knife cut out a decent size sample of the filter media. Squeeze out the excess oil in a vise and inspect the sample for metal/debris that would indicate a pump or component failure. If found you likely have a pump problem from the symptoms you are having. To help confirm this or if the filter sample is clean you remove and check your relief valve cartridges in the main control valve for damaged o rings or or debris holding them open. This will cause the system not to reach full pressure. If the reliefs are ok and metal is found in your filter then you have a failed pump. You can install a new folter and have your pressures checked and compared to OEM specs which low pressure will also confirm a pump problem if the reliefs are ok.

how do you check relief valve cartrigs near control valves with this info i should be set i have manuel and diagram just need to know what im looking for or how do i know what pumpgear pump chg pump or left ot right woyld this be answered with a pressure test

The relief cartridges you will unthread the complete assembly out of the control valve body but do not dusturb the adjustments on the top adjusting screws. Inspect inside the cartridge for metal or debris holding the valve open. Also look for any damaged o rings and replace the o rings. If you follow the book for charge pressure/pilot pressure ( your control pressure this will be the charge pump. Your main pumps will be much higher pressures. You will see this once you get into it but whatever pressure you are reading be sure to have a gauge that is double the pressure your testing for the most accuracy. Yes, a pressure test will reveal the problem pump or circuit.
