i WAS DRIVING THROUGH BUSHES...

i WAS DRIVING THROUGH BUSHES AND MULTI FLORA ROSES(heavy brush) and I lost all hydraulic functions except to the blade just like the left console was raised.Any suggestions? I don't have any hydr test equip. I suppose I will need A pressure gauge and a connector to the machine(size and thread type) Tell me all test equipment needed to follow your suggestion. Thanks! Hello Chester, I've drove through Loogootee a couple of times to work on machines we've had rented in your area. Yes, it does sound like the safety lockout system has the machine locked out, let's see if we can noodle through this problem and work it out.
Can you provide me the machine serial number so I can see if I have the correct manual for your machine. BTW, don't reply with numbers (573---), the website will think it's a phone number and all I will see is XXX--- on my end, reply with text, i.e., Five Seven Three---
If the machine is knotted up in the brush and saw briars, yes, it would be nice to drag it a bit to a better spot. And yes, that's what you would have to do, drag it. There's no easy way to release the brakes on the drive motor. As long as you're on dirt terrain, and have another machine with enough arse to pull, it shouldn't hurt the tracks or anything to drag the machine a spell.
I'm kinda busy doing home projects today, I'll check back in as soon as I can so please be patient. Thanks

I don't have the sn with me and the machine will not be available to me until Monday 8/4. I have a shop service manual that the dealer ordered based on the sn. It is for sn greater than two three four three one three zero zero zero. I will send more info Monday evening.

I think I have that manual, it has a part #6903830 in the lower left of front cover.
So I assume the machine is on a site and you're going back to it Monday with hopes of being able to troubleshoot the problem, no?

Wow, busy weekend, can't wait to get back to work to get a break! Just wanted to offer some info before you go back to the machine, assuming I'm looking at the correct manual.

There's a three wire sensor that senses when the left console is down and sends that information to the ECM. That sensor works off of low reference voltage from the ECM, can't remember for sure, 5 or 8 volts. I've never known a way to test that sensor, I think Bobcat has a test tool for that, but I've never got my hands on one. It's always possible that the sensor is faulty causing your problem, but we'll have to save that for later, but be sure to check the wiring and connectors going to the console sensor.

Once the ECM gets input from the console sensor, it sends 12V to the pilot system lockout solenoid to power up the solenoid and deliver oil pressure to the pilot controls. You should be able to disconnect the harness connector from the pilot solenoid and connect a test light between the two terminals of the harness connector, drop the console, and see if it lights the test light.

Also, the battery is in the area of the pilot solenoid. You could take some test leads with alligator clips and connect them, pos/neg, to the solenoid and pretty much manually power it up to test the solenoid itself.

Here's a pic of the solenoid manifold that has the pilot solenoid. The pilot solenoid is the one closest to the accumulator pot. Let me know what you find.

There are two selnoid with broken wires. It appears that an object may have went thru the right headlight opening and broke the wires. we tried to find replacement parts and Bobcat does not seem to have one in the wharehouse. They seem to have it on backorder. Any idea of reliable salvage yard? Would this selnoid be consistant with your diagnoses? I think it does!
I will be well pleased with your assistance as soon as I get replacement and the machine operates.

If it broke the wiring going to that solenoid that's located close to the accumulator then you've likely found your problem. I wish I knew where a Bobcat salvage yard was, I've had need of salvage parts at times myself. Is there any way you can repair the busted wiring without having to replace the solenoid?

The wires broke even with the plastic no way to clip in to the wire. I just suggested to my mechnic that I hold the wire ends together while he tried to operate the hyd. He did not respond. I would like to know the accum and pilot selenoid is ok instead of waiting for Bobcat to get the replacement parts and find that I need additional parts(additional downtime). I advised customer service that I would agree all is well when I follow your advise and the Bobcat is operating. Your advise seems to be accurate based upon what we have found. Your support looks excellent at this point. Just hope we get back in operation soon.Thanks you have been a pleasure to work! Where are you located that you would travel through Loogootee? Looks like the ball is in my court when we get the parts. With my typing speed this would be easier if I had a cell phone number. That would cause many interuptions and poor documentation so I understand.Thanks!

From the event you've described, unless you see some other external physical damage to the manifold components from the stick poking at things, then I'd say you'll be fine when you replace that solenoid. Bummer that it snapped the wires right at the solenoid so you can't do a test on it though, but stuff happens.
This website has some rules, one being in order to share phone numbers there's additional cost, something I'm personally not interested in doing. I'm not spending my time at this website to make a pile of money, I'm hear to help people out. If I make a little pocket change in the process I consider that a bonus.
I'm in Knoxville TN. We've had machines in that area on rent a couple of times. Once on the I-69 extension to Bloomington, and currently some machine on rent at NSA Crane. I hired Boyd & Sons in Washington to go over there last week to replace a rubber track on a Komatsu CD60R because it's a fairly easy job, and as close as there are to the site, they were cheaper on our wallet than me driving 7 hrs each way and chewing up 2 days of my time.
