Customer Question

We have a 1976 Mustang 345 skid steer - We know it's a Ford 4 cylinder engine, but when we go to get part, ie. carb we don't know what the engine is - can you help?

koboma :

Is this the V4? Ford, V4-104 engine.

koboma :

Or is this an inline engine? Ford 170ci., for pinto.

The Parts Manual that I have calls it a 67 CID engine. This is the problem we don't know if it's the pinto engine or not. We need a new oil breather cap - couldn't find anything from all possible ordering site - ended up matching size with a 1973 Gremlin in order to get something to fit. It seems the Mustang dealer can't get those parts and the Ford dealer can't as well. It would certainly help if you could say this is a "such and such engine". You are the first that has offer the V4-104 possibility. I would have thought if it was the Pinto engine some of the other items would have worked.
