I will help you follow the instructions that I've typed below to make it easy for you to recover your account and data.

Facebook allows its users to reset their passwords in one of several ways. All eleven of the varied resolutions are outlined, below. You may follow the resolution(s) that fit your case.

Resolution #1:

Please, follow the instructions detailed below to reset your Facebook password:

- Click the following link: https://www.facebook.com/recover.php

- Enter your email address in the middle field where it asks for your email address and click the "Search" button.

- On the next few pages, fill in the information that it requests and submit.

- Once you do that, it will send you a password ***** link to your email address. Simply click that link from within your email account and follow the instructions there to reset.

Resolution #2:

On the following page, enter the email address or phone number associated with your account and continue: https://www.facebook.com/login/identify?ctx=recover

Once you do that, you will be asked to enter one of your trusted contacts. From there, you will be told what to do. You will need to get a code from three of the friends listed on that page. When are you able to do so, you can then reset your password.

Resolution #3:

You may also upload a copy of your ID on the page linked below, which will help with the process of recovering your account:

Resolution #4:

If your account was hacked and the email address associated with the account was changed, open your email account, and locate the email that Facebook sent you notifying you of the email change. In that same email, you may choose to click the link that says, "If you didn't do this, please secure your account.". On the page that appears, it will walk you through recovering your account and re-associating your email account with your Facebook account. In the end, you will be able to recover your account.

Resolution #5:

If you are experiencing an issue with verifying your account using your phone, you may submit a request ticket on the page found below:

Once that is all complete, you will be able to reset the password. As a reminder, you should keep an eye on your email account's Junk/Spam & Trash folders for their email regarding the password ***** It may take up to several days before they respond.

Resolution #6:

With this option, you will need to ask a friend to help. They can sign into their Facebook account and go to your profile. On your profile page, have them click the "..." button below your cover photo, choose "Find support or report profile", click "Something else", and choose "recover this account". From there, the instructions will be given that you can use to recover your account.

Resolution #7:

You may report your account as "Hacked" on the following page if the email address associated with your account was changed: https://www.facebook.com/hacked

On the above-mentioned page, click the "My account is compromised" button.

It is very important that you do not enter your email address or phone number in the username field as the hacker may have changed those values. Instead, enter your Facebook username, which is what comes after the "www.faceboook.com/" address for your profile. For example, if your Facebook web address is www.facebook.com/whatnow, the username would be "whatnow". If you do not remember what comes after "www.facebook.com" you can ask one of your friends to go to the page in an Internet browser and give you that information.

Once submitted, it will ask for one of your old passwords and allow you to recover your account.

If the issue is related to your two-factor authentication method, you can choose to have them send a code to your phone by clicking the "Need another way to authenticate?" and click "Text me a login code". More information is found here: https://www.facebook.com/help/147926301947841

You can request a call or an email regarding which includes the code on the following page: https://www.facebook.com/confirmemail.php

On the page, click "Did you not get the SMS", and click the "Call _____" link.

On the computer, make sure you are 'logged out' of Facebook, and attempt to log in. When it asks for the code, click this link: https://m.facebook.com/checkpoint/?having_trouble=1

You will need to open the messenger and log into your account.

In your case, you can simply need to uninstall the application and reinstall it. Doing so will remove any faults.

Simply, press and hold your finger on the app icon for a few seconds, tap the small 'x' on the top of the app icon, choose to uninstall it, and reinstall it from within the App Store Application.

Yes, that is what you need to do. Enter your Facebook username and password.

Does someone else own the number? If so, you may want to contact them and ask them to give you the reset code that is to be sent to them. Otherwise, you can contact the previous phone company, explain the situation to them, and request that they give you temporary access to the text messaging service for that number.

I am neither agreeing with your or disagreeing with you, but if you want access to that old number, that is how you can recover it.

If you are signed into your Facebook account on the computer, can you go to your Facebook settings > Security page and make the change there?

You will need to call them and work out a deal regarding that issue before they will work with you regarding the recovery of the old number. If you explain this to them, they should be able to help.
