The best way to set them up is to have a smartphone/tablet and using the Google Home app. You'll open up your Google Home app and then tap on the Add icon (the plus sign) > Set up device > New device > follow the steps on the screen. It will guide you through setting it up as you go through each screen. In short you'll add the device you're looking for and then you can tweak any settings/etc when that's done.
