Second Opinion] (Hriday Dhali) Remote connection to faulty laptop and diagnosing config related problems. Hi, as promised, I created this question since you said this is possible with just a single word - "yes" - and nothing else related to it was answered nor discussed when I brought it up in an UNRELATED question so mods, this is not a duplicate. Thanks. I'll post the details as simply as I can. 1. I have a laptop that keeps going into sleep mode. It does not have a battery connected. 2. It can operate normally when turned on, but goes to sleep mode after 5-10mins depending on after I last shut it down. 3. After this 5-10mins interval, it goes to sleep every 30sec down to 2 secs. 4. There is no option to install a battery and I have some solutions the nice chaps at MS live support give me to try to solve the issue but I do not have enough time to complete them before the laptop starts going into sleep mode every 2sec. Question: What is the quickest method to connect/sync/control (dunno the term) this to my working laptop and trouble shoot it remotely even when it goes to sleep mode. I can go further into details as long as this works. Or any suggestion for solution to the hardware part which I will describe later. No need to be detailed. I just need some suggestions IF I cannot do the remote thing. The only catch is I CANNOT open up the back of the laptop since I have a warranty from a repair shop (not the manufacturer) or he will say deny the possibility of the laptop still having this problem without me trying to fiddle around with it and pass the buck to me. If more info needed now, then read on please: Ok, here are the questions I've been asked by people I know in the IT field: I know there are laptops which are dependent on batteries WITH power cables to operate but we're assuming this is not one of them. And if it is, I have instructions from MS on how to decouple the reliance on both power sources but I need enough time to implement them. I cannot attach a battery because the adapter or whatever you call that plastic thing that you plug the battery in is FUBAR and would require soldiering and potential damage to the motherboard so this is not an option unless there's some way around it. I have a warranty for repairs from a shop while I will be going to on Friday so any advice if there is a possibility of getting around the hardware issues would be very much appreciated. Thanks!
