On windows 10 i...

On windows 10 i can't open the camera. i also can open pictures. i get a message instead "the app didn't open."

Technician's Assistant: When could you last open your pictures?

It's friday. it seemed fine on wednesday.

Technician's Assistant: Did you recently update your software or version of Windows?

No. but i was having trouble going on line so i attempted a system restore. The system restore was unsuccessful - the message said it couldn't open a file and i should disable my anti viris software - and subsequent system restores seem to have failed.

Technician's Assistant: Anything else you want the Software Expert to know before I connect you?

Like i say the problem seems to be across the visual/photo/camera area. the camerra doesn't open nor to pictures i simply had sitting there. Programs like Photoshop can't open the picturesd either.

Hi,

Thanks for using JustAnswer. I am happy to assist you with this issue. is this a desktop or a laptop? What kind of camera is it? Also, you may want to check the default program (file association for the .jpg extension to see what program the computer has set to open the pictures with. You can do this by going to the search at the bottom left and typing file association and select the menu that comes up to select a default program for each file type. Then, scroll to .jpg and let me know what is assigned to open .jpg file.

Then we can go to the next step if needed.
