You will not be able to create a new account

You won't be able to get a certain Gmail address if the username you requested is:

Already being used
Very similar to an existing username (for example, if***@******.*** already exists, you can't use***@******.***)
The same as a username that someone used in the past and then deleted
Reserved by Google to prevent spam or abuse

It's not letting me in. I tried setting up a new account with the same username and password ***** it says the account already exists. My husband is getting frustrated and wants to return it. Why will it not work?
