Hi. I was just given a Lexmark X6570 printer with no Software. I am having two problems: a) there was no installation software; b) the top cover lid is raised by approx. 3/4" - 1" and I keep getting an error message telling me "cover lid is open". Can someone please help me?

Technician's Assistant: Is your X6570 displaying the error on all print jobs, even after you restart it?

One more thing: I have been unable to load "instructions" to open the driver installation.

Technician's Assistant: When did you last update the printer driver software?

I don't recall

Technician's Assistant: Anything else you want the Printer Expert to know before I connect you?

First of all, the user manual for your printer can be found on the following link: http://support.lexmark.com/index?page=content&id=PU45839&actp=PUBS&locale=en&userlocale=EN&productCode=LEXMARK_X6570&segment=SUPPORT

Second, to install the proper driver, you need to check which is the correct version of Windows and if is 32 or 64 bit.

Please check the following page on Microsoft support to get a step-by-step procedure:

After this, please download the proper drivers from the official site, link: http://support.lexmark.com/index?page=product&segment=SUPPORT&productCode=LEXMARK_X6570&locale=en&userlocale=EN#5

On "Operating system" please select your windows, and the proper version and download the driver.

Once you have downloaded it, install it following its menu.

Regarding the cover lid, that will be more difficult to assist since we cannot see it. Are you able to open it and provide a photo?
