I have a Nikkon camera S220. A new Canon printer. How do I get photos from camera to computer? Do I nned a cable or what?

The camera works great. I have photos in camera I wish to get onto computer. Di i need a cable? I am in Windows 10. had a cable before for port connction bu none came with the new printer & old cable did not fit.

My computer is an Acer brand with a Dell tower. It is a desk top. Microsoft Windows ME edition. Hope this is enough info. I really need to get photos from camera today to complete a project.

I do not have a cable that fits the camera. My memory card slot is is my camera. I have Windows 10. Updated from original Windows. I can buy a cable I believe.
Your local computer / electronics / computer store might not have the correct USB cable for your camera model. Can you please get a USB memory card reader device to connect it to your computer?

I do not want to connect to a secure remote connection. I don't think you can solve my issue that way. Send me instructions or walk me through this please.

I can do that. It will take me a bit to go to Walmart & buy one. They are the only game in my town right now. Can I hold this connection that long to keep my conversation going?

I have purchased a USB memory card reader device. Multi card reader Digi Power reader. What's next? Clerk knew I had no slot in my computer for reading, only in my camera.

Please try:

  1. Connect the USB memory card device to a USB port on your computer.
  2. Turn off the camera.
  3. Take out the memory card from the camera.
  4. Insert the memory card to the USB memory card device.
  5. If prompted on the computer's screen, select the option to "Import photos and videos" and continue.
  6. Or if needed, open File Explorer (or open any folder).
    - (Or press at the same time the two keys Windows logo and E on the computer's keyboard.)
  7. Then click on option This PC on the left.
  8. Then there, open the memory card reader drive letter there, if shown.
  9. Then open the folder called DCIM.
  10. And open any subfolder as needed, then you can view / copy photos.

I have been deleting old photos that have been printed. I have quite a few in DCIM then Nikkon. I can see them. So they are in camera & on computer. Hopefully now I can complete my project. Than you so much. I am signing off. Will call or email if needed. Have a good day & evening.
