Like I said Pearl I no savvy. IT says

I think I have blown it by down loading Microsoft 2010 that had a black screen, I thought it could be fixed-you will believe I am a dill before I am through

Can you please make sure the laptop is plugged in, then press the power button and hold it for 30 seconds, don't let go until 30 seconds are up. Once you are done, tap the power button once, just like you normally do, and your laptop should be back in service.
