I am unable to...

I am unable to send/receive emails as the Network box comes up saying "pop email", then user name then password. I have deleted and re-entered by password ***** nothing is happening. I have contacted my provider and they assure me that this is a problem with gmail. Can you please help - I need to tell you that I am not very techno savy

Technician's Assistant: How's your internet connection? Are you checking Gmail from a browser or a mail client (e.g. Outlook)?

Internet connection is fine, closed off and restarted. Working from outlook

Technician's Assistant: Are there any antivirus or firewall settings that could block you from receiving mail?

Not that I am aware of as nothing new has been done to my computer
