I have installed my Pinnacle Studio 16 Ultimate on my desktop. The OS for my desktop is: Windows 10, version 1703.

Technician's Assistant: What's the brand/model of your laptop?

When I try to open Pinnacle Studio, I get a message that says: The Operating System has been upgraded after Studio has been installed. Some or all of the programs features may not operate correctly. We recommend that you re-install the software. When I attempt to re-install I get a message that says: All components have already been installed on your computer. My Pinnacle Studio 16 Ultimate will not open. It's not a laptop, it's a Dell desktop

Okay, there are two possible ways to solve this issue. I will start with the easy one. Please right-click on the shortcut you are using to open Pinnacle and choose Properties. On the properties Window, select compatibility tab make sure that all boxes in this tab are unchecked. Click OK. Try to launch Pinnacle again and see if the issue is resolved.

Okay, you will need to edit the registry in that case. Editing the registry is usually a last resort because editing the wrong key can really mess up your computer. I can walk you through the process or I can connect and do this for you. Which is easier for you?

Once that opens, expand the following folders in order HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > Wow6432Node > Avid. Then click on the folder Studio 2.

In Studio 2 you should see a short list of files. Do you see one called VersionNT?
