Trying to connect to internet on family tree maker 2012 keeps saying no internet connection

Technician's Assistant: What computer or device are you having trouble syncing?

I have an hp computer and running windows 10 the computer is connected thru wi fi

Technician's Assistant: Are you able to connect using an ethernet cable?

No it says the same thing the computer already is connected but family tree maker will not connect

Technician's Assistant: Which lights are colored and/or blinking on your router?

The power light and the communicateing lights are on and blinking

Technician's Assistant: Anything else you want the Network Expert to know before I connect you?

No it is just family tree maker that will not connect
