I have been sent a disk but it does not install

Technician's Assistant: What's the brand and model of your computer? And the Operating System (OS)?

Its a Dell I am not sure what model

Technician's Assistant: How long has this been going on with your computer? What have you tried so far?

I just tried it now. I put the disk in and it says it is installing, and it starts gets to about 3% and jumps to 100%. But I can't find it on my computer.
