We have today been connected to NBN and my computer works OK but we cannot get the landline phone to work. I need some help to sort this problem

Technician's Assistant: What's the brand/model and Operating System (OS) of your smartphone?

I do not have a smart phone. My problem is with the landline phone

Technician's Assistant: How long has this been going on with your smartphone? What have you tried so far?

I had previously had difficulty with the computer and Optus sent me a new modem which fixed the problem. The landline phone has worked throughout this problem period with the computer but today we no longer have a phone service

Technician's Assistant: Anything else you want the Smartphone Expert to know before I connect you?

No just help me to get the landline phone working please
