My 10 year old...

My 10 year old Acer laptop locks up about 1 minute into playing any video. Have run disc cleanup and disc defragmenter plus a Norton full system scan. Nothing obvious. What hardware controls playing a video? Had new power supply installed a year ago. Video issue new. Thoughts solicited.

Aspire 5732Z is model.

Technician's Assistant: Have you installed any updates recently?

Sorry. Running Windows 7 Premium Home edition. Have set for auto update. This problem is a month old but happening at quicker rate in last week.

Technician's Assistant: Anything else you want the Computer Expert to know before I connect you?

I am not on the laptop but my main desktop PC so not sure what connecting me will do to help. Laptop still running defragmenter in consolidating pass.
