Technician's Assistant: Just to clarify, what's the exact model of your Dell? And what operating system are you running?

Dell Inspiron 15 I15558-5718Slv Signature Edition Laptop Windows 10. It's been fine up to now but last week I could not get beyond the energy saving screen. No option to sign in. Just froze. I looked up info on how to fix it and I was advised to use the CD that came with it and follow instructions. Problem; I don't have said CD Can you help? please.

I don't think so. I just want to know why the computer froze.
