Can you help with printer issue?
JA: What's the exact make and model of your printer, and can you guesstimate how old it is?
Customer: Canon Pixma iP6000Dmaybe 8 yrs old
JA: What happened right before this popped up? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: I actually got one printed page and then when I tried another printing, it said the print head needed adjusting. I went to the tools and selected the auto print head alignment and it says it is aligning it , but then it pulls the paper and the green light flashes while the paper stays in place and it says on the screen, "aligning print head" but nothing is doing anything,
JA: Anything else you want the Camera Expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: no

Thanks for choosing Just Answer.

I'm Kumar and I'll try my best to assist you today.

Can you please let me know if you can choose Manual Print Head Alignment instead of Auto ?

Thanks,

Kumar

Customer: replied 1 month ago.

Can you please do that?

Manual Print Head Alignment is interactive with the printer so we will be able to understand the issue.

Ok

Okay. Did we try to replace ink cartridges recently?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
They are all new.

Can you please remove all of them and reinstall them back one by one, gently.

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
I have printed a few things before this with these cartridges. I have trouble with paper jamming and not sure if that could cause this.

Where did the paper jam happen?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
I jams right after if pulls the paper and it goes crooked. So I took some paper out for less bulk.
Now I've replaced the ink cartridges.
Customer: replied 1 month ago.
Should I check anything in the tool box now?

No, we need to clean the excess paper that is left inside

So, you pulled the paper and some part of the paper was left inside?

If yes, can you please let me know which side the paper was Jammed?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
It is cleaned.
I just tried to print and it says "print head not installed". My computer says, " the appropriate print head is not installed"
Customer: replied 1 month ago.
It jammed on the left

Okay we need to do two things.

1) On the printer tool box, please perform a Print Head cleaning.

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
Do you think this is needing repair that I cannot do?
Customer: replied 1 month ago.
It's saying"print head not installed" when I ask it to do a deep head cleaning
Customer: replied 1 month ago.
It won't let me do anything else while it's displaying that error message and I have to shut it off and turn it back on

The problem is Print Head repair is expensive. The printer you are using is 8 Years OLD. Its already completed the 3 years of Warranty. Instead of repairing the print head which might have gone faulty we can get a brand new printer.

Ok thank you
Customer: replied 1 month ago.
Do I have to do anything to conclude this communication?

The only thing we can try is to check for any paper that's still stuck in the left side of the printer. You can use compressed air to remove the excess paper.

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
Ok I'll try that

Thank you,!

Thank You.
