yes, and there is a phone line connecting to it.
Did you plug it into the NBN router yet?
You still need to plug your phone into the gateway for services, this they installed when installing NBN as your previous service has now stopped, hence why your phone stopped when this was done..
Please, follow the cable from your landline phone and tell me what it is plugging into, from the wall socket to where?
It is best if you call from your cell 02 8375 3629
Then have the service changed there, as it was disconnected when you switched to NBN.

You will need to call the number sorry, as if you cannot follow the telephone cable as I am instructiing you will need to call and have them check your line instead
