Windows 7 desktop computer goes directly into “start up

repair” when I turn it...
Windows 7 desktop computer goes directly into “start up repair” when I turn it on. Can’t fix it automatically. When I try to restore the computer from the only restore point, it says that there is not enough disk space to do that. It a custom made computer with an ASUS board. It has a small SDS drive that must be maxed out on space. The machine worked fine last time but I had loaded some programs on it before I shut it down last time.

I tried safe mode with network, but it didn't boot up. I can't remember now how I got to safe mode to try it again.

Shut the computer down, push the power button and immediately start pressing F8 on your keyboard and it should give you the option.

when I do that it puts me on to the bios screen

OK, I tried starting it in safe mode and it goes right back to the start up repair screen

Also, from the safe mode screen, I tried starting it with the last known good configuration and it put me right back at the "Startup Repair" screen again

OK, I think I'm going to have to boot it up off of something I can download onto a jump drive or something. I don't have any recovery disks or anything like that

OK, I will take a look at that again. I wasn't sure what I needed from there- I think they wanted $20 for the program to put it on a jump drive and $20 or so for the program itself I think, if I read it right. That's why I came here. I'll take another look at it.

OK, tried starting again and it went right back to the "Startup Repair" screen

OKay, please shut down the computer and try these steps:

  1. Restart your computer
  2. Wait for your BIOS to complete POST (the screen with your manufacturer logo and/or system information)
  3. Quickly begin tapping F8 repeatedly, until you see the list of boot options
  4. Choose “Disable automatic restart on system failure”
  5. Press Enter and wait for your PC to boot.
