Though I try to change my password (none of mine seem to work) adn go thru the hoops, I end up with a"can't verify this belongs to you
JA: When did you last reset your username and password?
Customer: maybe 2 yrs ago; just started trying to use my IPad now
JA: Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: not on the ipad, and going to my computer I can't anything useful

Not sure what is "provider". Ipad shows 2 accounts, ICloud and Gmail. When I go to Mail it asks for a gmail passwoed, and none of mine worrk.
