I just bought a My Cloud Back-up unit. It has no proper USB cable--only a cable to connect to the internet. I have connected the wire to the internet but can't get the unit recognized.

Technician's Assistant: What's the make and model of your computer? Have you had problems with the USB port in the past?

I-MAC with sierra OS

Technician's Assistant: Have you installed any updates recently?

It appears to be up to date

Technician's Assistant: Anything else you want the computer expert to know before I connect you?

Hi that is an ethernet connection, you need to use the software disk that came with it in order to configure the backup drive. Can you give me an exact make and model and I will see if there is a download available for the mac?

Sorry I used this system. Next time I buy a Western Digital product, if it doesn't have a telephone number I will immediately take it back to the seller. I do not blame Jay for this and offer him 3 stars. This system of service does not work for me. It should go without saying that I DO NOT want to have a free trial or start a subscription.
