I can't get my gmail to send a word document
JA: How long have you had this issue with your Gmail account?
Customer: it's new but i have been able to send emails until I tried to attach a word document
JA: Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: not intentionally. i'm not very computer literate
JA: Anything else you want the computer expert to know before I connect you?

At the bottom left corner of your mail list, what percentage does it say you have used of your allocated storage space?

It says 0 %. The account is new. The Word document is 568kb

These are the contents of the answer:
1. Click the Gear (settings) icon on the top right of Gmail then click Settings.
2. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and change the Attachments to "Basic attachment features"
3. Click Save Changes

There was no reference to attachments any where under settings

Gmail must have changed since the answer was provided.

Does it allow you to attach any other file such as pdf and what version of MS Office is the file saved from?
