Hi and welcome to the site, I’m Louie. Sorry you had to wait awhile but I’ll do my best to help.

Initially, is the Asus completely / electrically dead?

Or is there some indication of power? ...charging? ...power On?

Customer: replied 6 months ago.
I had it charging all that time so the computer is powered up.

I feel that i just need to clear the screen and it should run as usual.
Expert:  Louie replied 6 months ago.

How does the screen look like please? Can you post back with a clear picture? HERE.

Customer: replied 6 months ago.
I think I realise what I have now on the screen and as I am using two computers at once on the same address it has confused the server. What do you think?
Customer: replied 6 months ago.
I will shut this computer down and see what happens. We are all on holidays just now so my usual help is not available until we all get back to work.
Thanks Louie

Yes please.

You can also consider/try for test purposes to temporarily removing the battery (if doable) and powering up just using the AC adapter/charger.

Please post back results / observations of the above once tried.
