It is difficult to keep the picture size in the size we want

Customer Question

It is difficult to keep the picture size in the size we want it to be. Every time we change channels, it goes back to the smaller size and we have to go thru the routine again of making it bigger. There should be some way to keep it the same size all the time?

Please try below steps :-

  • Turn on your Toshiba television, if it is off, and press the “Menu” button on your television’s remote control. The Picture control highlights.
  • Press the down arrow button and scroll to “Theater Settings.” Press the left arrow button to select the screen width you want: Full, TheaterWide 1, TheaterWide 2, TheaterWide 3, Native, 4:3, Normal or Dot by Dot.
  • Scroll with the down arrow button to “Done” to highlight it and press the “Enter” button on the remote control to confirm the screen width change.
  • Press the “Exit” key to exit the menu system.

Ok, did all that and still comes back to smaller picture when I change the channel.
Expert:  Bhavik Joshi replied 6 months ago.

Okay, When you are going back to previous channel , Do you see your previous settings ?

Customer: replied 6 months ago.
No.
Expert:  Bhavik Joshi replied 6 months ago.

Okay. Please try above settings one more time and after doing this setting do not change channel. Just turn off your TV and restart setup box and see if it is saving your settings.

Customer: replied 6 months ago.
OK
Did that and came back to same channel, the picture is where we want it, but when I went back in to see if the Theater Settings had changed, it now says Standard for mode, and picture size is Full. I changed the channel again and it went back to smaller picture.
I also tried the reset button while I was in Theater settings, to see if that worked, but obviously it didn't.
Expert:  Bhavik Joshi replied 6 months ago.

Okay. We need to change the default setting. Give me sometime. I will get back to you on this.

Customer: replied 6 months ago.
OK, how long will it be?
Expert:  Bhavik Joshi replied 6 months ago.

it should not take much time.

Customer: replied 6 months ago.
Ok

Please try and see if below settings works for you. This has worked for other users :-

Highlight THEATER SETTINGS and press ENTER

In the Auto Aspect Ratio field, select OFF

Press DONE and press ENTER on the remote.

Expert:  Bhavik Joshi replied 6 months ago.

Do you have C button on your remote ? If so , Press the C button on your remote to save your changes.

Expert:  Bhavik Joshi replied 6 months ago.

Also you need to change this setting as well :-

  1. Press SETTINGS on your remote.
  2. Use the left/right arrows to navigate to "High Definition".
  3. Use the up/down arrows to navigate to "Auto HD".
  4. Press SELECT on your remote to turn Auto HD off (or on).
Customer: replied 6 months ago.
Where is the C button?
I tried alll the above, and the picture that was enlarged, has now gone back to smaller again.
Oh, I didn't see the last note from you, will try that.
Expert:  Bhavik Joshi replied 6 months ago.

Okay, May be it is not there for your model.

Expert:  Bhavik Joshi replied 6 months ago.

Any luck after changing Auto HD setting ?

Customer: replied 6 months ago.
No, in fact I have snow right now, I must of hit something else.
I have an idea now of what to do, so I think I'll keep trying tonight, and if I still can't get it,
I'll try later. It's getting late for me! Thanks for your help tho.
