I am not able to run Firefox or Thunderbird because there

Customer Question

I am not able to run Firefox or Thunderbird because there are instances already running for each program. I do not know how to delete those other instances. I've tried to reinstall both but that didn't help. Also there are other files that the system looks for in the Mozilla directories but not found. IE is the only browser I can use but I really want Mozilla's software which I have been using for several years up until this happened about 6 months ago. Please help if you can. I would like to uninstall both and reinstall but that didn't work 'cause I get the same result.
