I keep getting running scripts that prevent me from getting

I keep getting long running...
I keep getting long running scripts that prevent me from getting anything done. It doesn't happen if I am using Edge, so I believe it is a firefox issue.
JA: What kind of computer do you have?
Customer: It's an hp notebook. This problem just started a few days ago.
JA: Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: Yes, updates were installed around the same time the error began showing up.
JA: Anything else you want the computer expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: No, can't think of anything.

I'm getting it on every site except my work site. This morning I've been using Chicos.com to test it.

Type in

%temp%

Press enter

Delete all files and folders listed (skip any files windows says are in use)

Once done, restart the computer and tell me if you still get it please.

ok, do the following in Firefox please

  1. In the address bar, type about:config and press Enter.

    • The about:config "This might void your warranty!" warning page may appear. Click I accept the risk! to continue to the about:config page.
  2. In the about:config page, search for the preference dom.max_script_run_time, and double-click on it.
  3. In the Enter integer value prompt, type 20.
  4. Press OK

Tell me if it then stops it please

According to my order history, I've paid $40. Does that mean you can now do remote access? If not, why is it this amount?

ok, then search for the preference dom.max_script_run_time.

Right-click on it and choose Reset.

The amount is for this question and service I am now giving you.

ok, I want to do a system restore please.

To do this, close all programs.

Press the windows key + X and click on Control Panel

click System and Security

Then click on System

Then System Protection

Then System restore

Choose a date before this problem occurred.

Let it complete and tell me if it now functions correctly please

I get a blue screen that says the pc ran into a problem and needs to restart. After restarting, I get another screen called automatic repair. My options are to restart which simply repeats the process or advanced options none of which are viable.

ok, there is hard disk issues and it is leading to this.

Do the following please to repair any corruption

Press the windows key + X and click on command prompt (admin)

A black window will open.

Type in it

sfc /scannow

press enter and when it has completed, type in

chkdsk /r

Press enter.

It will give a message "the type of the file system is NTFS cannot lock current drive.

chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another process. Would you like to schedule this volume to be checked the next time the system restarts y/n" Say Y, press enter and restart the computer.

Please note, while this normally only takes 10 minutes to run, it can take at times number of hours if windows encounters many issues. If this is occurring it is critical to let this complete as it means you have corruption on the hard drive that it needs to fix. Even if it looks like the scan is not progressing, it is, please just let it run to completion. Windows will then start when it has.

Then check for the issue please
