Lenovo t400 thinkpad doesn't work anymore. Does it need a new driver and if so how is one supposed to be able to anything on it or with it when the keyboard doesn't work? Thanks

I have tried using a usb keyboard but it doesn't work. I am however

For windows 7

click the windows menu button select search

type in system restore and hit enter.

Now the system restore dialog box will open.

click the round circle like radio button which says choose a different restore point and then hit the next button

on the next screen or box you will see a check box at the bottom says show more restore point.

Click on it to put a check mark on it you will get many old dates

click on one of the old date and hit next and now hit finish.

The computer will restart on its own while it restart please do not interrupt it will take around 10 mins to get you back to working windows without any problem.

Turning the computer back to an earlier date that it was still working on was one of the first things I tried. It did not affect the keyboard though.

Do I need to update the driver and if so do I first need to update the bios? Please feel free to pass this issue along if you do not know the answer. ThankYou in advance and have a great day.

go to the start menu --> search device manager --> look for Keyboard and right click on keyboard and choose uninstall and then restart

when you uninstall it shuts down the external mouse which is the only

means of doing anything since the keyboard doesnt work. So after I click

uninstall there is no way to get to restart.

uninstalling the keyboard removes the mouse as well?

Try to power it off manually and back on.
