I have a T500 laptop and the wireless connection quit

Customer Question

I have a T500 laptop and the wireless connection quit working. The message says the adapter is not working and to reset a "switch" on the computer which I can not find; or use the key function which I also can not find. Please advise.
JA: Just to clarify, what's the make and model of your machine, and what operating system are you running?
Customer: Lenovo laptop ThinkVantage T500, Windows 7
JA: Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: Yes, windows is updated. Am I also suppose to update the "hardware"? I have not done that.
JA: Anything else you want the computer expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: No

Hi there and welcome

Can you press FN + F5 as this should then turn on wireless

Let me know please if it then comes on.

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
No it did not turn on the wireless adapter. It still says reset the switch or the function keys. I am communicating with you on this laptop with the ethernet connection. I unplugged the ethernet connection before I tried the Fn+F5, then I plugged back in to ethernet to send you this note. Should I have disconnect the Ethernet and then rebooted first??
If I do that I will not be able to reconnect with you.

Richard, I started this dialog on a Lenovo site. Are you a Lenovo representative or a third party? I have always been reluctant to give access to a 3rd party that I have not vetted.
Expert:  Richard replied 10 months ago.

We are a 3rd part that supports Lenovo.

On the left side of the laptop, check closely for a switch near the ports.

You see it?
